2012 Thesis Prize Nomination Deadline Nears
The deadline for a complete nomination package for the best JLab-related thesis is Feb. 1. Theses completed during the last quarter of 2011 and calendar year 2012 are eligible. Criteria that will be considered for evaluation include quality of the written thesis, contribution of student to work, impact of work, and service to JLab physics. New SOTR Training Feb. 1
A training session (GEN 020) for new Subcontracting Officer's Technical Representatives (SOTRs) will take place on Friday, Feb. 1, 8 a.m.- 12 noon in Room 428 of the Applied Research Center. Anyone tasked to serve as a SOTR on any project at JLab is required to attend this training. Space is limited. To register, contact Betty Beeler, x6999, by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31. Anyone with questions regarding this training or the SOTR certification process may call Kathleen Jones at x5139 or Mitch Laney at x5338.

JLab Annual Sustainability Plan Now Available
The 2013 Jefferson Lab Site Sustainability Plan and the Lab Energy Conservation Policy are available for your review. The SSP describes the diverse set of DOE energy, water and greenhouse gas reduction goals, related sustainability initiatives prescribed for each DOE site, and JLab's progress and plans to achieve the goals. The Lab Energy Conservation Policy describes policies specific to JLab, especially regarding use of personal appliances to promote energy conservation and safety. As described in the policy, personal appliances (refrigerators, space heaters, etc.) are prohibited from individual use. However, Facilities Management is prepared and available to provide approved appliances for common use. Onsite Blood Drive Set for Friday, Jan. 25
The next American Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in CEBAF Center Room F113. New and repeat donors are encouraged to attend. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, contact Johnie Banks, x7539.
