The SNP School 2014 will be held at J-PARC site of Tokai and on the
campus of Tohoku University, Sendai from February 13th to 19th , 2014
hosted by JSPS core-to-core program (Nuclear physics group of Graduate
School of Science, Tohoku Univ.), co-hosted by Advanced Science Research
Center JAEA, supported by KEK, J-PARC center, RIKEN Nishina center,
RCNP, ELPH, HPCI, ANPhA and Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on
Innovative Areas "Nuclear matter in neutron stars investigated by
experiments and astronomical observations".
The participants of the school are assumed to be graduate students and
young researchers at the postdoc level who have a strong motivation to
carry the future nuclear physics research. We also welcome senior
scientists.
Detailed information with an application form is given and will be
updated at the following

Scheduled Lectures
H.Gao (Duke)
J. Hadenbauer (Bonn)
T.Motoba (Osaka E.C.)
H.Stoeher (COSY)
J.Vary (Iowa S.)
M.Oka (Tokyo Tech.)
M.Naruki (Kyoto)
S.N.Nakamura (Tohoku)
The schedule of the school consists of two parts.
The first half (13-15 February) will be held around J-PARC (Tokai,
Ibaraki pref.) which is located at 100km northeast of Tokyo and 70km
north of the Tokyo-Narita airport. The latter half (16-19 February) will
be held on the Kawauchi campus of Tohoku University (Sendai, Miyagi
pref.). At the night of 19th, summary and discussion session will be

population of one million is the center of the northern part of Japan,
"Tohoku District".
It is located about 350 km north of Tokyo and can be accessed in 1 hour
and 45 minutes by the super-express train (Tohoku Shinkansen). We will
arrange a bus transportation from Tokai to Sendai on the 16th and Tohoku
Univ. to Sakunami on the 19th for the school participants. On the way to
Sendai, a short visit to historical town, Aizu, is planned.
The school will welcome a maximum of approximately 50 graduate students
and young scientists from all over the world both in experiments and in
theory. Students have a chance to have financial
support for part of their travel and local expenses. Deadline of
application is the 31st October, 2013. In addition, the organizers
strongly advise the persons who need a visa to enter Japan, to contact the
organizer as soon as possible, since the issuance of a visa may take a

Application form can be submitted from the SNP school 2014 homepage.
The registration fee is 15,000 yen (only cash will be accepted at the
registration desk) which includes coffee, refreshments, lunch at Tokai
site, the bus transportation from Tokai to Sendai and the welcome
reception.
Students and young post docs are to attend full lectures and discussion
session from the morning of 13th through the late night of 19th. It
means students had better arrive at Tokai in the 12th . It should be
noted that leaving Tokyo on the morning of the 20th is difficult. Please
consult with organizer if you have any question about travel plan in
Japan. If you cannot make it, please contact with the organizers.
Selections of participants (students and post-docs) and financial
support for them will be performed based on research interest,
activities, abstract of the presentation and a one-page recommendation
letter provided by your supervisor to be attached to the application form.
All young participants are expected to present his/her activities by
poster or oral sessions during the school.
Please give a title and one-page abstract which will affect the decision
of financial support.
