Windows Software Updates
The CNI group is planning to release updated versions of Java, Firefox and Thunderbird on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 23. Plan to reboot your Computer Center-managed Windows desktop on Thursday or Friday to finalize software installation. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the IT Division Helpdesk, x7155.

Red Cross Blood Drive Set for Oct. 30
The next American Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in CEBAF Center, Room F113. New and repeat donors are encouraged to attend. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, contact Johnie Banks, x7539. Baggage Check Fees Added by United Airlines
Star Alliance (United Airlines) Gold and Silver status customers announcement: Effective with tickets issued on or after Oct. 17, United Airlines is adjusting the number of free checked bags allowed. If you fly United and need to pay for checked baggage that was previously free, Jefferson Lab will reimburse the cost of one bag on domestic flights and two bags on international flights. The cost can be added to the miscellaneous column on the expense report. JAG Tailgate Set for Tues., Oct. 29
Jefferson Lab employees and users are invited to the Jefferson Activities Group's Tailgate, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 29, 3-5:30 p.m., in the field behind the SURA Residence Facility. The Tailgate will feature chili, nachos, grilled foods and beverages, and games for all ages. You are encouraged to wear your favorite team's colors (whatever the sport) and sturdy shoes, and dress for potentially cool afternoon/evening temperatures. Planned activities include a pickup soccer game and cornhole tournament (advance registration required).
