September 11 Briefs Excerpts: 

CNI Maintenance Period Set for Tuesday , 5-8 p.m. 
The CNI group is planning a maintenance period for 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday , Sept. 17. During this time, the central file server for /group, /site, /apps (K:, L:, M:) will be intermittently unavailable during a necessary configuration update. There may also be a 15 minute Internet outage during work on an external router. Updates to Adobe Flash, Shockwave and Acrobat Reader will be pushed out to Windows desktops to fix a security flaw in those products. Finally, patches will be released to all Windows and Linux desktops. Plan on rebooting your Computer Center-managed desktop on Wednesday or Thursday morning to finalize the patch installation. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the IT Helpdesk, x7155 or helpdesk at jlab.org . 

TIAA-CREF Onsite Individual Counseling Sessions 
TIAA-CREF will offer Individual Counseling Sessions, where you can discuss your personal financial situation with a TIAA-CREF consultant on a confidential basis. Consultants will be available to discuss how to help you achieve your financial goals by investing in financial solutions such as mutual funds, brokerage, life insurance and annuities. The sessions will be Wednesday and Thursday , Oct. 23 -24, and Thursday , Nov. 21 , in Support Service Center Room 21. To schedule an appointment, call TIAA-CREF at (800) 732-8353 , Monday through Friday , from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. 

TEDF Dedication Ceremony R.S.V.P. Due 
Jefferson Lab will conduct a dedication ceremony of the new Technology & Engineering Development Facility (TEDF) on Wednesday , Oct. 16 , at 3 p.m. The lab community is invited to attend the event. The program will include short remarks by lab leadership, the Department of Energy and invited officials. Afterward, attendees will be able to take a self-paced walking tour of the new and refurbished facilities. Get Fit with Fido! 
Want to work out after work but can't because you have to go home and walk the dog? Join the JAG Dog Training Club for a "Get Fit with Fido" class this fall! Class will start on Tuesday , Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Support Services Building lobby and will continue through mid-December, except for the week of the Thanksgiving holiday. The workouts will include cardio, strength, balance and stretching, plus dog obedience and agility activities in an hour of non-stop fitness fun. All fitness levels can participate. Dogs must know some basic obedience commands, including sit, down and stay. One dog per person.
