Yesterday, we received excellent news! As you may know, good progress
has been made with the commissioning of the CEBAF accelerator in
its new 12-GeV Upgrade incarnation.

It gives me tremendous pleasure to congratulate our colleagues from
Accelerator Operations and of all our sister divisions within JLab,
as the CEBAF Accelerator delivered beam at the required 2.2GeV/pass
energy gain for one pass beam. This meets the commissioning goals
for this period and even more is one of the CD4A deliverables of
the 12 GeV Upgrade Project.

I am sure you will agree this is a stellar accomplishment, and the
result of many years of thorough planning and execution by many
excellent and hardworking people, who deserve our gratitude and
congratulations. Thanks to all of you!

I am using this opportunity to also inform you that we had last
week the second phase of the Accelerator Readiness Review process,
which included to start looking at delivery of low-current CW
beam to the Hall A dump and tune beam to the Hall D tagger dump
vault. So, beam for our beloved Physics experiments comes closer
also from this perspective.
