January 15 Briefs Excerpts:

CNI Maintenance Period Tuesday, Jan. 21, 5-10 p.m.
The IT Division's CNI group will hold a systems and network maintenance period on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 5-10 p.m. During this time, work will be performed on the Zimbra email system, which may cause some interruptions to service as the proxy servers are upgraded. Updated certificates will be installed on several web servers, so there may be a few brief outages while these certificates are installed. The solaris system, jlabs3, will be taken out of service, and there will be network maintenance, which may cause a brief outage to some systems. Adobe packages (Flash, reader, etc.), Java and Thunderbird updates will be released to all Windows systems. Lastly, security patches will be released to all Windows and Linux systems. Plan now to reboot your system on the Thursday or Friday following CNI Maintenance. As always, if you have any questions or concerns about computer-related issues, contact the IT Division Helpdesk, x7155.
