[Cuga] Updates from the UGBOD- A message from Haiyan Gao

Dear Jefferson Lab users:

As the Chair of the Users Group Board of Directors, I am writing to 
follow up on the very successful 2015 Users Group Annual Meeting which 
took place June 1-3 at Jefferson Lab. All talks from the meeting are on 
the web (_https://www.jlab.org/conferences/ugm/program.html_), including 
some *detailed **updates on the accelerator status, funding agency 
reports, and lab management overview presentations*. In addition, the UG 
Business Meeting presentation has some important information that I'd 
like to share with those who could not attend:

* *DNP Executive Committee Nominees*: The nomination deadline is the end 
of June. The UGBOD recommended nominees for DNP executive committee are
    Curtis Meyer for Vice Chair
    Gail Dodge and John Arrington for at-large committee members

* *UGBOD changes*: The UGBOD has moved to a four-person chair line. John 
Arrington became Past Chair, Larry Weinstein is Chair Elect, and Krishna 
Kumar is Vice Chair.  Additional new members are Volker Crede, Nadia 
Fomin, and Misak Sargsian. We thank Dipangkar Dutta, Jose Goity, 
and**Steffen Strauch for their great service to the users group, and 
John Arrington for his great leadership as the Chair of UGBOD in the 
last two years.

* There is a *new student supervisions policy*, summarized in the slides 
and fully described here:

* The talk during the business meeting by John Arrington:

lists winners of the JSA thesis and postdoc prizes, the poster prizes, 
and the JSA 2015-2016 graduate student fellowships.

I, Larry, Krishna, and all other members on the UGBOD are very much 
looking forward to hearing from you any time about your concerns and 
ideas about how we may work together to improve things for the users at 
Jefferson Lab. Wish you all a productive but also relaxing summer.
