Flu Vaccines Offered by Appointment
Occupational Medicine is now accepting appointments from Jefferson Lab staff for Influenza vaccinations. If you would like to be vaccinated, contact Occupational Medicine at x7539 to schedule an appointment. Keep in mind that for 15 minutes after vaccination you should remain at Jefferson Lab, in the presence of other people and avoid safety-sensitive activities, including driving. Questions may be directed to Johnie Banks, x7539.
Tornado Warning Siren Test Set for Friday, Oct. 2
Jefferson Lab's tornado warning siren will undergo its monthly operational test at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2. Don't respond to the siren; this is a test of the siren system and not a personnel response exercise. Individuals planning to be in the Central Materials Storage Area (where the siren is located) while the test is taking place must have with them and wear two layers of hearing protection.
Reminder: All-Hands Meeting on Oct. 1
Mont will conduct an all-hands meeting on Thursday, Oct. 1, in the CEBAF Center auditorium. He plans to provide the Jefferson Lab community with an update on safety, workforce diversity, cyber security and recent federal cyber breaches, infrastructure and the campus plan, funding & budget status, and major activities including the 12 GeV Upgrade status, the fall accelerator running schedule, LCLS II work, the Nuclear Science Advisory Committee (NSAC) Long Range Plan due out in mid-October, and the Jefferson Lab proposal for a future Electron-Ion Collider and other items. Vacation Donation Program Open Enrollment Ends Friday
This year’s open enrollment session for the Vacation Donation Program will be offered through close of business on Friday, Oct. 2. During open enrollment, eligible employees may anonymously donate vacation time in increments of four (4) hours. The program requires donors to maintain a minimum vacation balance of 80 hours after the donation. All donated hours will be held or use by eligible employees who are approved to become beneficiaries of the program. To participate, fill out a Request to Donate Vacation via the Vacation Donation Program application. More program details are available on the Human Resources/Benefits website. Jefferson Lab to Kick off 2015 United Way Campaign with Picnic on Oct. 2
Jefferson Lab’s pledge campaign to support the annual fundraising appeal for the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula kicks off with a picnic 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2. The fundraiser picnic will take place in the CEBAF Center lobby and cafeteria dining area. Hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, and assorted canned soda and chips will be available for $1 per item to raise money for the United Way and will be served by Jefferson Lab senior management. Red Cross Blood Drive Scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16
The next American Red Cross Blood Drive will take place Tuesday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in CEBAF Center room F113. New and repeat donors are encouraged to attend.
