The Jefferson Lab Physics Community is saddened to pass on a brief statement
from Karl Slifer below. We will miss Patricia's positive and caring
outlook on life, her
friendly character, and her both leading and collaborative work as a
scientist.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Patricia Solvignon-Slifer passed peacefully this weekend. She was with
those who loved her. It is difficult to convey the deep sadness that her
death brings, so I'd prefer to dwell on how she brightened the lives of
those around her just a little every day. She lived her life well, and
her unflinching optimism taught us how to love life as it is, with good
and bad.
She was an amazing wife, a loving mother and also a formidable
scientist. She was proud of her appointment as JLab staff scientist.
Her bridge position with UNH was extremely productive, and was
recognized by the DOE with an Early Career Award. She was lead
spokesperson for several 'high impact' experiments at Jefferson Lab, and
contributed to the Long Range Plan for Nuclear Science.
Following Patricia's wishes, there was a small private service on
Saturday. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Patricia's
Live & Learn Kid Fund <https://www.gofundme.com/PatriciaLiveLearn>.
