The New JLab.org is Now Live! 
"Sign In" using your Jefferson Lab username and password to access all website content and links, whether it's aimed at the public, staff members or scientific users. The first few layers of the public-facing website have received a facelift, but our work is far from over. Look for additional updates and improvements to both public and authenticated content in the months to come. If you have any questions or concerns about the new site, contact jlabinfo at jlab.org. 

Jefferson Lab Engineer Honored with NASA Award 
Of Kevin Jordan’s 21 patents, more than half come from his work on boron-nitride nanotubes. Earlier this year, Jordan and his colleagues were recognized for their efforts by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration when it named BNNTs as its 2016 NASA Government Invention of the Year. Hour of Code a Hit with Students

Desktops and the Upcoming Holiday Break 
The IT Division has released Windows and Linux patches to all desktops. In order to ensure that your desktop is fully patched during the holiday break, take the time now to reboot your desktop before you leave. 2017 Door/Cubicle Decorating Contest Winners Announced 
The Jefferson Lab Activities Group has announced the 2017 Office Door/Cubicle Decorating Contest winners: 
Best Overall: Pam Turk with the Chocolate Lab. 
Most Original: Jonathan Creel with the Recycled Christmas (everything used in his decorating came out of the recycle bin in his building!). 
Geekiest: Kim Edwards with Merry Trekmas.

2018 Property Validation Process to Start Monday, Jan. 8 
The 2018 Property Validation period will take place Monday, Jan. 8-Feb. 28. The Property Inventory, which follows the validation, will take place March 12-May 25. To check for accuracy, Property Management staff will inventory 20 percent of the validated items. New this year, during February and March, all divisions are being asked to survey all of their assigned spaces to look for items not tagged or marked DOE/JLab Property. Reminder: 2018 General Access RWP Is Available for Signature 
The 2018 General Access Radiological Work Permit (RWP) is now available for signature. All trained and badged radiation workers must read and electronically sign the new RWP before Jan. 7, 2018, to retain accelerator site access. To complete, click on SAF801kd on the Web-Based Training page. 

Annual Security Awareness (GEN034) Training Due Before Jan. 31, 2018 
All Jefferson Lab, JSA/SURA and DOE staff members and select subcontractors are reminded to complete the online GEN034 Annual Security Awareness training module. GEN034 training that was taken before Dec. 19 did not extend access beyond Jan. 31. Cryptocard, Safenet and MobilePass Token PIN Length Change 
Due to DOE requirements for the use of the Cryptocard, Safenet and MobilePass token devices, Jefferson Lab has increased the PIN length requirement from a minimum of four digits to six digits. The next time your hardware token or smartphone token requests a PIN change, you will need to choose a PIN with a length from six to 10 digits.
