International Workshop on Physics with Positrons at
Jefferson Lab

12-15 September 2017, Newport News, Virginia

                                  *** Second Circular ***

Registration for the Workshop on Physics with Positrons at Jefferson Lab
is now
open at the conference website :

This workshop is organized to explore the complementary physics
potential offered
by a polarized positron beam at JLab. We seek presentations and
discussions of
the application of positron beams in the context of CEBAF 12 GeV, a possible
Positron-Ion collider (complementary to an Electron-Ion Collider), and
an eventual
low-energy positron facility.

The physics potential will be evaluated on the basis of beam intensity and
polarization. At CEBAF 12 GeV, beam intensities about 10-100 nA CW and
 >60% polarization
are expected, at EIC energies a luminosity of 10^33 cm-2/s and >40%
polarization are
considered and at low energies positron beams with a flux about 10^10
e+/s with >50%
polarization are likely. Workshop proceedings are intended to inform a
White Paper
for a positron physics program at JLab.

The workshop is organized in plenary and parallel sessions according to
the topics:

- Interference physics (J. Arrington & C. Hyde, conveners)
- Charged current physics (Y. Furletova & W. Melnitchouk, conveners)
- Test of the Standard Model (M. Battaglieri & X. Zheng, conveners)
- Positron applications (T. Forest & F. Selim & B. Vlahovic, conveners)
- Positron source and beam physics (J. Grames & V. Morozov, conveners)

The program will be composed of both invited and contributed talks, and
will comprise
also a poster session. Student support is available to encourage their
participation
in the workshop.
