[Cuga] 23rd International Symposium on Spin Physics and Related Phenomena (Spin 2018)- a message from Paolo Lenisa

Dear Colleague,
this is the first circular to announce the 23rd International Symposium on Spin Physics and Related Phenomena (Spin 2018) that will be held in Ferrara (Italy) in September 10-14, 2018. 

The International Spin Physics Symposium series has been held jointly combining the High Energy Spin Symposia and the Nuclear Polarization Conferences since 2000. The most recent symposia took place at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany (2010), at JINR, Dubna, Russia (2012), at PKU in Beijing, China (2014), and the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign, USA (2016).

The scientific program will include topics related to spin phenomena in particle and nuclear physics and related fields. The Symposium topics cover accelerator, storage and polarimetry of polarized beams; applications of spin physics; fundamental symmetries and physics beyond the standard model; future facilities and experiments; nucleon structure; polarized ion and lepton sources and targets; spin physics in nuclear reactions and nuclei; spin physics with photon, lepton and hadron beams; spin structure of hadrons. The Symposium format consists of talks in plenary and parallel sessions. 

As Organizers, we took over the challenge of hosting the 2018 Edition of the Spin Physics Symposium in the Renaissance center of Ferrara, that since 1995 is inserted in the UNESCO list of world Heritage. Ferrara is easily reached by train from Italy and connected to two large nearby international airports, Bologna and Venice, served by major and low-cost airlines. 
As Ferrara is a touristic center hosting many events, it might be difficult to book a hotel with late reservation. For this reason we invite all of you who intend to attend the Symposium to plan their trip to Italy in advance. A list of Hotels with a number of reserved rooms is already available and accessible from the web page of the event. 

A (preliminary) webpage for Spin 2018 can be accessed at http://spin2018.unife.it. You can already consult the link “Practical informations” for hotel, travel informations and conference venue. The page will be updated with additional informations when available.
