You are cordially invited to the 3rd biennial Southeastern Virginia Postdoctoral Symposium. The event will be held on the seaside campus of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, in Gloucester Point, VA, on May 9th.
The symposium will showcase the research of VIMS, W&M, and regional institution postdocs. The day will also include a keynote on securing funding from the private sector, a career panel on work-life balance, a keynote on diversity and inclusion in STEM, networking lunch and happy hour receptions, and of course postdoc talks and poster presentations.
The event is open to all faculty, staff, students, and postdocs of VIMS, W&M, and regional institutions, and is free of charge (including food and beverages). However, registration is required.
You are receiving this email because you have been identified as someone who may be interested in this event. Please feel free to forward this to other individuals or groups who may also be interested. We are using 'Southeastern Virginia' very loosely and welcome any attendees who are willing to make the trip.
This is also a call for abstract submissions.
Postdocs, we want to hear about your research. Please submit abstracts for presentations. Monetary awards will be provided for the best poster and talk presentations.
The full program, abstract submission, and registration can be found here (http://forms.wm.edu/42585<https://gcc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fforms.wm.edu%2F42585&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cb352dd2b992b43e3bff708d6c414ff27%7Cb4d7ee1f4fb34f0690372b5b522042ab%7C1%7C0%7C636911991784819410&sdata=m%2BngoK66O1OPMVh24ncImy4W3sOhdVmyg5IqKaZ%2BJDU%3D&reserved=0>).
Abstract submissions are due April 25th.
Registration closes on April 29th.
We look forward to seeing you here!
