We are pleased to announce that the SNP School 2020 will
be held at J-PARC, Tokai, Japan, from December 2nd to 5th,
2020 hosted by J-PARC, RCNP-Osaka, ELPH-Tohoku, KEK-IINAS,
ASRC JAEA, ANPhA, RIKEN Nishina Center and GP-PU of Tohoku
Univ. This is the ninth one of a series which has been held
every year since 2012. Recently, the SNP School were held
in 2017 at Tokai (J-PARC), 2018 in Osaka (RCNP) and 2019
at Sendai (Tohoku U).
Since we cannot predict the situation of COVID-19 in
December now, the style of the school, either person to
person or remote, may be changed in a flexible manner but
we would like to fix the duration of the school, December
2 – 5 (four days), 2020. If the situation is still difficult
or unclear in several months, we will decide to prepare the
remote style, which will be announced before you need to plan
your travel. If the situation is getting improved, possible
participants can attend the school at Tokai, while others
still in remote, namely the style of the school will be hybrid.
The school will have several lectures and topical talks on
strangeness nuclear physics as well as other related and wider
subjects from hadron to cold atom physics. We believe that
such wider discussions are useful for young physicists and
also to researches conducted at accelerator facilities for
hadron beams such as J-PARC (Japan), GSI and FAIR (Germany),
RCNP (Japan) and for electron beams as CEBAF at Jefferson Lab
(USA), MAMI-C at Mainz University (Germany) and ELPH at
Tohoku University (Japan) etc. Lectures by leading physicists
will overview related subjects both from experiment and theory,
and topical talks on recent progress and future prospects of
the fields will be also given.
The tour to visit accelerator facility of J-PARC is planned
as a part of the school, if the school will be held on-site.
In addition, the school will organize a “young researchers’
session” to give a chance of oral and poster presentations
by young participants. We encourage you to present your
research activities in this session as well as to enjoy the
lectures.
Details of the SNP School 2020 will be announced later on
the web. If you have any questions about SNP School 2020,
please contact us via the following organizer address:
