Second announcement: Workshop on Software Infrastructure for Advanced Nuclear Physics Computing; JLab, June 20-22 2024

Dear Colleagues,

This is the second announcement of the Workshop on Software Infrastructure for Advanced Nuclear Physics Computing, to be held at Jefferson Lab, in Newport News, Virginia, on June 20-22, 2024.

Registration for the workshop and hotel information are now available on the workshop web site:

https://www.jlab.org/conference/2024SANPC

A block of rooms at reduced rate has been reserved at the Newport News Marriott at City Center, under the group name "SANPC2024." The booking deadline to receive the reduced rate is May 17.

Thanks to generous support from DOE/NP and ASCR, early-career attendees (up to five years after PhD degree) will have their hotel cost covered and will have reduced registration fee. Please check the box on the registration form to request this support. Deadline for this support request is May 20.

The workshop will run 2.5 days, from 9 am to 6 pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 9 am to noon on Saturday. The Thursday and Friday agendas will be a mixture of plenary and parallel sessions.

The plenary sessions will include invited talks from funded collaborations (SciDAC, DOE Topical, NSF, others), experimental facilities, and funding agencies. There will also be a plenary open mic session, during which everyone wishing to make a brief comment with slides will be able to do so. While a speaking slot for the open mic session can be requested at the meeting, it would help us to organize the session if you can already provide a tentative title in the box for that purpose on the registration page.

The parallel sessions will be devoted to working groups which are assigned to draft sections of the White Paper.

Saturday morning will be a plenary writing session, with the goal of achieving consensus on the main points and key language of the White Paper.

An email list will be set up after the workshop, for further discussion and finalizing of the White Paper. If you cannot attend the workshop but nevertheless wish to contribute to the White Paper, please notify the Organizing Committee at sanpc2024workshop at jlab.org<mailto:sanpc2024workshop at jlab.org>.

A Third Announcement will be sent to registered participants prior to the meeting, with the workshop agenda and final arrangements.

We look forward to seeing many of you at the workshop.
