Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are delighted to announce the upcoming graduate summer school
entitled "Modern Techniques in Hadron Spectroscopy", scheduled for July,
15-27, 2024 at the Ruhr University Bochum (Germany).
The recent discovery of exotic hadron candidates that challenge the
conventional quark model requires novel ideas to better understand these
intriguing phenomena at the boundary between nuclear and particle physics.
Our school aims to train hadron physicists in both theoretical methods
and experimental techniques, in particular related to the hadron physics
programs of LHC, JLab, BESIII and FAIR.
This two-week program is jointly organized by the Exotic Hadrons Topical
Collaboration (ExoHad) and the Joint Physics Analysis Center (JPAC), and
is supported in part by
Indiana University, Jefferson Lab, Ruhr University Bochum, the Helmholtz
research Academy Hesse for FAIR, and the North Rhine-Westphalia-FAIR
network.
Program Overview:
Pillar 1: Phenomenology (including EFTs, quark models, functional methods)
Pillar 2: Amplitude Analysis (combining theory and data science,
S-Matrix properties, Regge theory)
Pillar 3: Lattice QCD (Monte Carlo techniques and beyond, finite volume
formalisms, quantization conditions)
The program will be led by a balanced team of senior and early-career
researchers to ensure a rich and diverse learning environment.
Morning lectures will be followed by afternoon exercise sessions to
emphasize practical applications and problem-solving.
In addition, seminars on new experimental results and diverse topics
will be hosted to provide broader context.
Social activities will be organized throughout the school.
For more details and to register, please visit
https://indico.gsi.de/e/hadronschool . We encourage early registration
due to limited space.
Please forward this announcement to suitable candidates in your network.
We look forward to hosting you in Bochum!
Best regards,
Sergi Gonzalez-Solis (University of Barcelona, Spain)
Mikhail Mikhasenko (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany)
Alessandro Pilloni (University of Messina, Italy)
Arkaitz Rodas Bilbao (Old Dominion University/JLab, USA)
