Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the 4th Annual AI4EIC Workshop – Artificial Intelligence for the Electron-Ion Collider, taking place from October 27–29, 2025, in a hybrid format, with in-person sessions hosted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA.
Full workshop details and registration are available on the official webpage:
[:point_right:] https://indico.bnl.gov/event/AI4EIC2025
As in previous years, the workshop is organized with the support of the AI4EIC Working Group of the EIC User Group (EICUG) and a multi-institutional scientific organizing committee. This year, the Workshop is co-sponsored by the NSF Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Fundamental Interactions (IAIFI), including organization and funding support.
Based on the enriching experiences from past editions, we strongly encourage in-person attendance to foster deeper engagement and collaboration.
Registration is now open, and abstract submissions are welcome. Accepted abstracts and invited talks will be eligible for publication as proceedings in the Journal of Instrumentation, following the successful model of past workshops:

  *    JINST Proceedings - 3rd AI4EIC Workshop<https://iopscience.iop.org/collections/jinst-230713-01>
  *   AI4EIC - Community Paper (Computing and Software for Big Science) - 2nd AI4EIC workshop<https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s41781-024-00113-4>
  *   JINST Proceedings - 1st AI4EIC workshop<https://iopscience.iop.org/journal/1748-0221/page/extraproc98>

Building on the productive exchanges of previous AI4EIC events (https://eic.ai<https://eic.ai/>), this year’s workshop will explore both current and emerging applications of AI/ML within the EIC, including work related to the ePIC experiment and beyond. The program will feature contributions from experts across academia, national laboratories, and industry.
We are also excited to announce a dedicated workfest on AI Retrieval Agents for EIC Science, organized by AI4EIC, offering a hands-on opportunity for collaborative development and discussion during the Workshop.
AI/ML continues to play a critical role across all phases of the EIC, from detector design and R&D to deployment and data analysis. This workshop offers a valuable opportunity to stay informed about ongoing AI/ML projects and strategic directions, while also serving as a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue among theorists, experimentalists, accelerator physicists, and AI/ML practitioners.
We look forward to your participation and contributions to this dynamic event.
Best regards,
The AI4EIC Workshop 2025 Scientific Organizing Committee
