"QuantOm: A Next-Generation Workflow for Femtoscale Imaging"
Markus Diefenthaler
Abstract:
Markus Diefenthaler presents QuantOm, a next-generation computational workflow for femtoscale imaging in Nuclear Physics. The framework integrates high-performance computing, generative AI, and tightly coupled experiment–theory analysis to enable direct extraction of quantum correlation functions (QCFs) from event-level data.
A central challenge in such analyses is the mismatch between experimental measurements and theoretical frameworks. QuantOm addresses this through a folding methodology that maps idealized theoretical events onto realistic detector-level events, enabling direct and consistent comparison with experiment.
The modular workflow is deployed on leadership-class supercomputing systems and demonstrated across multiple regimes, including large-scale parallel execution, multidimensional sampling, and GPU-accelerated extraction of realistic QCFs.
By unifying theory and experiment within a single scalable pipeline, QuantOm enables high-precision, prompt analysis and will advance data-driven discovery at CEBAF and the future Electron-Ion Collider.
