National de la Recherche Scientifique office for North America
will describe their policies fostering cooperation and the
tools and opportunities that enable the scientific
collaborations between France and the U.S. </span></font></p>

Martino, recently appointed director of the L’Institut
National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particles
(IN2P3), will talk about the future plans for IN2P3.</span></font></p>

"Calibri","sans-serif";"><u>Background:</u>
The Office for Science and Technology, as well as the Office
for Higher Education and the CNRS office support co-operative
programs between France and the U.S., organizing events,
issuing reports and newsletters to the French science and
higher education community. Helpful tools, such as the Partner
University Fund (PUF program), the Chateaubriand fellowships
for co-supervised Ph.D.s, and international laboratories (UMI,
LIA) of CNRS and other research institutes, will be described.</span></font></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText"><font face="Arial"><span style="font-size:
11pt; font-family:
"Calibri","sans-serif";">IN2P3 is a French
Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique institute created
in 1971. Its purpose is to promote and unite research
activities in the various fields of physics.</span></font></p>
