<p class="MsoPlainText">RUTHERFORD CENTENNIAL CONFERENCE on NUCLEAR
PHYSICS <o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">The University of Manchester Manchester UK 8th
– 12th August 2011<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">We have become aware of a variety of issues
that prevented some members of the international nuclear physics
community submitting abstracts by our original deadline in March.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">We have decided to extend the deadline until
22nd APRIL 2011 to allow as many people as possible to contribute to
the conference program.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">The conference will mark one hundred years of
the atomic nucleus by addressing the wide range of current topics
characterizing modern nuclear physics, including nuclear structure and
astrophysics, hadron structure and spectroscopy, weak interactions and
relativistic heavy-ion collisions.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">We would be pleased to receive abstracts by the
22nd April on any of these areas for inclusion in the conference
program.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText">Along with other information about the
conference, which will be updated as plans are confirmed.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">We are also pleased to announce that an
exhibition will be held at the Manchester Museum of Science and
Industry to celebrate the Rutherford centenary from Aug-Oct 2011.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">The opening will coincide with the conference
and it is planned to show historic pieces of equipment and papers
associated with Rutherford's time in Manchester. A reception is planned
at the Museum for conference delegates, supported by CANBERRA.<o:p></o:p></p>
