<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Soon after the June
30 cyber
event, a new externally facing <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.jlab.org">www.jlab.org</a> web site was quickly
brought online
with limited content while the internally facing <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.jlab.org">www.jlab.org</a> web site
remained
unchanged.<span style=""> </span>This helped to address an
immediate cybersecurity need, but removed the uniformity between the
external
and internal views of <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.jlab.org">www.jlab.org</a> that our users are accustomed to,
and made
most content inaccessible from offsite.<span style="">

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">This past Thursday,
a new <a href="http://www.jlab.org">www.jlab.org</a> web site was
deployed to provide a
more content- and feature-rich web site for both internal and external
viewers.
Unfortunately, this update broke many bookmarks and links as well as a
handful
of web applications (Wiki sites, php content, and cgi scripts) for both
onsite
and offsite user users.<br>

<p class="MsoNormal"></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">We apologize for
the
inconvenience that users experienced during these transitions.
Temporary
adjustments were made on Friday that restored the missing content; all
bookmarks
and links to missing <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.jlab.org">www.jlab.org</a> content are now being forwarded to
wwwold.jlab.org (the old web server), including all content that was
available
before the June cyber event. All previously existing links should be
working
and will not have to be updated.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Within a couple of
weeks, we
expect to have a stable environment with more permanent technical
solutions.<span style=""> </span>The <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.jlab.org">www.jlab.org</a> web site will
be consistent both internally and externally to the Lab, and users can
expect all
content available prior to the cyber event to be accessible without
user redirection.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Personal web pages
(~username) will continue to reside on userweb.jlab.org, with
transparent
redirection from the <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.jlab.org">www.jlab.org</a> server for those users who have
requested
publicly visible web pages. We will be implementing a notification page
for
missing personal web pages, which will allow the viewer to contact the
owner of
the missing content. To have a personal web page created or
re-instated, users
should complete a request. Instructions are available at the following
URL,
which requires a login using the link in the upper right-hand corner of
the
page.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
