During this time, the Zimbra calendar and email system will be down for an upgrade (see Briefs for more detailed info). There will be an internet outage 5:30-6:30 p.m. During the outage, computer users will not be able to reach servers outside of JLab. The scratch file server will be down for about 15 minutes for patch installation and for a configuration update; it will be back up no later than 6 p.m. Updated Firefox and Thunderbird packages (17.0.5ESR) will be delivered to fix security issues, and Windows and Linux patches will also be delivered. Plan on rebooting your systems on the Wednesday or Thursday following maintenance to allow installation of these patches to be completed. A representative from Sprint will be onsite Thursday, April 11, from 10 a.m. until noon in CEBAF Center room F113 to answer questions, offer training and troubleshoot device problems. You will not need to attend the entire session for these services.</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><br></font></div><div><b><font face="Arial">Education Seeks Projects for Summer Honors Interns</font></b></div><div><font face="Arial">Seven outstanding high school students have been selected to participate in the lab's High School Summer Honors Program, which will be held at the lab June 24-August 2. The students are currently high school juniors and seniors and have expressed interest in pursuing scientific and technical careers. Lab scientists, engineers and other technical managers who are interested in serving as a mentor to high-achieving high school students and have a project, or number of projects, to be accomplished this summer, are asked to send a description of the work to be assigned or any questions you may have about the program to Brita Hampton, <a href="mailto:hampton@jlab.org">hampton@jlab.org</a>, by May 1. The students will be required to develop a poster about their project and present it during a poster session.</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><br></font></div><div><b><font face="Arial">JLab Tornado Drill Survey Results</font></b></div><div><font face="Arial">On March 12, many members of the JLab community participated in the annual statewide Tornado Drill. Afterward, drill participants were asked to complete a short Tornado Preparedness and Response Awareness Survey.
