This includes the dosimeters of all lab staff, users and subcontractors. If you won't be using your dosimeter during the changeout period, place it in its assigned place in the dosimetry racks for the changeout. If you need to use your dosimeter during the changeout period on Dec. 16, you may exchange it that morning in the Radiation Control Dosimetry Office in Bldg. 52B, Room 4, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. If you have questions, contact Becky Mosbrucker, x7236.</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><br></font></div><div><div><b><font face="Arial">CNI Maintenance Period Set for Tuesday, Dec. 17, 5-7 p.m.</font></b></div><div><font face="Arial">The IT Division's CNI group is planning a systems and network maintenance period for Tuesday, Dec. 17, 5-7 p.m. During this time, there will be a short network outage while equipment failover is tested and a configuration upgrade is performed. There will also be a voicemail outage, and all Management and Information Systems applications will experience a short outage while system patches are installed. A Symantec Anti-Virus software upgrade will be pushed out to all managed systems; this update should be transparent, but a complete virus scan will be performed when installation is complete. Also, Firefox, Thunderbird and Adobe Flash player updates will be released to all Windows systems, and Windows and Linux patches will be released to all desktop systems. Plan on rebooting your desktop system later in the week or, at least, prior to your departure for the holiday break. As always, if you have any questions or concerns about these or other computing-related topics, contact the IT Division Helpdesk, x7155</font></div><div><font face="Arial"><br></font></div><div><b><font face="Arial">Test of Public Address System Will Intermittently Impact Live Calls</font></b></div><div><font face="Arial">Also during the CNI Maintenance Period on Tuesday, Dec. 17, the lab will test the public address capability of its Cisco IP phones. The test will commence at 5:30 p.m. and will be broken into two parts: a lab-wide test of the public address system, followed by building-specific tests in each of the following areas: ARC, SSC (Bldg. 28), CEBAF Center (Bldg. 12), EEL (Bldg. 90), Test Lab (Bldg. 58) and the TED (Bldg. 55). When the public address system is activated, all "in progress" phone calls will automatically be put on hold. Each set of tests should last 1-2 minutes and could include up to two separate voice announcements from the speaker on Cisco IP phones. As soon as an announcement is completed, you may access and resume any interrupted calls.</font></div></div><div><font face="Arial"><br></font></div><div><b><font face="Arial">Annual Holiday Bake Sale Set for Friday, Dec. 20</font></b></div><div><font face="Arial">Quark Cafe staff invites the Jefferson Lab community to its annual Holiday Bake Sale on Friday, Dec. 20, 10:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. The bake sale will be in the CEBAF Center lobby and will include a variety of breads, holiday cakes and pies by Gerry Fortin, owner of Lucille's Bakery in Richmond. Registration is available through the Learning Management System. Additionally, Job Task Analysis (JTA) questions regarding pressure systems and safety hazards have been revised. åIn order for updates to reflect in your Skill Requirements List, your supervisor must go into the JTA and update the record. The updated questions are: Does this position require the operation, repair or design of a pressure or vacuum system? (SAF130A Pressure Systems Awareness); and Does the work involve stored energy or movement hazards (e.g. compressed gasses, magnets, robotics)?
