<p class="MsoNormal">In June 2016 Mike Pennington will step down
from his position as Associate Director for Theory at Jefferson
Lab. We have posted this position on the Jefferson Lab website (<a
href="https://www.jlab.org/job-openings"><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.jlab.org/job-openings">https://www.jlab.org/job-openings</a></a>)
and posted an advertisement in Physics Today (<a
href="http://jobs.physicstoday.org/jobs/7712394/associate-director-theory-center"><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://jobs.physicstoday.org/jobs/7712394/associate-director-theory-center">http://jobs.physicstoday.org/jobs/7712394/associate-director-theory-center</a></a>).<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We have also appointed a search committee with
a distinguished membership to conduct an international search and
provide me with final recommendations for this position. The
committee will be co-chaired by Joe Carlson of Los Alamos National
Laboratory and Bob McKeown of Jefferson Lab. Members will be
Charlotte Elster (Ohio U.), Franz Gross (Jefferson Lab emeritus),
Frithjof Karsch (Bielefeld U. & BNL), Krishna Rajagopal (MIT),
and Feng Yuan (LBNL). <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I would like to ask for your help to encourage
qualified people to apply for this position. We would also like to
hear from you about people you think should be considered. For
full consideration we would like to receive applications by
February 1, 2016.<o:p></o:p></p>
