The Indico web server will be back up and available no later than 8 p.m. Also, several core CUE apps will be updated and released, and Windows, Linux and Mac patches will be released to all servers and desktops. In order to finalize this patch installation, all web servers and many Linux servers will be scheduled for reboot overnight. Any outages will be brief during these reboots. Plan on rebooting your desktop to finalize patch installations no later than Friday, March 18. If you have any questions or concerns about this maintenance period, contact the IT Division Helpdesk at helpdesk@jlab.org or x7155.<br><br><strong>Research Assistantship Program Now Taking Nominations</strong><br>Jefferson Lab is seeking candidates for the 2016-2017 Minority/Female Undergraduate Research Assistantship (MFURA) program. Through the MFURA program, a minority or female junior or senior level undergraduate student will work on a Jefferson Lab-related project at his or her university during the academic year. Students must be nominated by university professors with whom the students would conduct the research. Nominations will be accepted through May 2. The training covers general safe operation and maintenance techniques, as well as the specific requirements of System Owners defined in the new Pressure and Vacuum System Safety Supplement. Others who might benefit from the training include operators and supervisors of technicians working on pressure systems. The 10-minute screenings will take place in CEBAF Center, room F113. At this screening, you will learn more about blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes risk, Body Mass Index, tobacco cessation, and the benefits of regular physical activity. This free service is open to Jefferson Lab employees as well as users and subcontractors. An appointment is required for this screening.
