<pre wrap="">Reminder of JLab ExCare (Travel Childcare) Fund
Dear All JLab Users:
We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing holiday break. For those with families, this is usually a good time to review family budget and make plans for the new year, including travel plans. Along this line, I am happy to announce that the JLab Fund for Extra Child Care (ExCARE) program has again been approved as part of the JSA's Initiative Funds. (Of course, we all owe a big favor to Patricia for starting this program a couple of years ago.)
The ExCARE program provides financial assistance for extra childcare expenses incurred when scientist-parents travel to conferences, workshops, and collaboration meetings for their JLab-related research. The program has been well accepted in the past two years. This year, we would like to see more people to apply, and have extended the eligibility to all users of JLab. This means graduate students with families are now eligible to apply. Post-tenure faculty members can also apply, although will receive lower priority than pre-tenure faculty, postdoc, and graduate students. In addition, each family can apply the ExCare fund for multiple trips.
