Hall B has been preparing to continue the CLAS12 run that started earlier this spring. In parallel, data analyses proceed on data taken during the spring run in preparation for the APS/DNP meeting in October. Many new results have recently been published from CLAS data, including a new paper in the journal Nature on short-range correlations in nuclei.<br style="">

These data will determine if efforts to obtain the spatial extension of the charged pion can be extended as well to the charged kaon, and if kaons can be used to enable 3D spatial tomography of strange quarks within the nucleon.</span></span>

The predictions can be tested by data from Jefferson Lab, COMPASS, HERMES and the future Electron-Ion Collider, which will help our understanding of transverse momentum dependent parton distributions beyond leading twist.</span></span>

<strong style="">Allow Time for Shipping & Receiving to Process Packages</strong><br style="">
All JSA employees are reminded that Shipping & Receiving must properly log items that have been shipped to the lab before the items can be distributed. This means they must open the package, check the invoice against the purchase order, verify the quantity ordered versus the quantity received, resolve any issues (e.g. shortages, wrong part, incomplete information, inspections required or special handling), log the order receipt into the lab's finance system, and then mark the package for delivery. A notice of delivery by the package carrier is not authorization to interrupt this process, which can potentially introduce errors and delays for everyone. Employees should expect that only work stoppage/critical items may be expedited through this process. While Shipping & Receiving strives to deliver orders to the end user on the day they are received at the laboratory, deliveries are often completed on the next business day. The IT Division has begun migrating some computer users to the Office 365 Outlook app for email in order to more fully document and test the new email and calendar environment. Over the winter holiday shutdown, all Zimbra users will have their email, calendar, tasks and contacts migrated to Office 365.
