We are pleased to announce that the joint international school SNP-CNS<br>
SS 2024 will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from August 3rd to 8th , 2024.<br>
This school is co-hosted by School of Science, the University of<br>
Tokyo, CNS-Tokyo, QNSI-Tokyo, J-PARC, ELPH-Tohoku, RCNP-Osaka,<br>
KEK-IINAS, RCSHE-Kyushu, CABAS-Kyushu and supported by ASRC JAEA,<br>
ANPhA, RIKEN Nishina Center, GP-PU of Tohoku Univ.<br>
This international school is the 13th SNP School and the 23rd CNS SS<br>
of the series which have been held every year since 2012, and 2001,<br>
respectively. This is the first attempt to organize a joint event.<br>
<br>
The school will be held in-person at the University of Tokyo Hongo<br>
campus, and RIKEN Wako campus and zoom connection is also planned.<br>
The school provides lectures that cover subjects from basics to the<br>
frontiers of strangeness nuclear physics, exotic nuclei as well as<br>
other related fields such as astrophysics, etc.<br>
Lecturers are invited both from theoretical or experimental physics,<br>
and their materials are prepared to be useful to young physicists and<br>
also to researchers who would have wider interests. Confirmed lectures<br>
and tentative titles this year are listed below.<br>

Volker Burkert (JLab) Recent discoveries in hadron physics at JLab<br>
including gravitational form factors of a nucleon.<br>

Takatsugu Ishikawa (RCNP, Osaka) Experiments on hadron spectroscopies<br>
<br>
Alejandro Kievsky (INFN, Pisa) Theory of Few-Body Systems .<br>
<br>
Yuki Kubota (Nishina Center, RIKEN) RI beam facility and related physics<br>
<br>
Nobuya Nishimura (CNS, Tokyo) Nuclear astrophysics including<br>
nucleosynthesis<br>
<br>
Saori Pastore (Washington U, St. Louis) Nuclear electroweak<br>
structure and reactions using Quantum Monte Carlo and EFTs<br>
<br>
Koji Terashi (ICEPP, Tokyo) Quantum Computing<br>
<br>
Young Researchers’ Session (YRS)<br>
We organize the Young Researchers’ Session (YRS) for those who think<br>
themselves as young, such as students, postdocs and so on. YRS<br>
presenters give posters and/or short oral (a few minutes)<br>
presentations. Hashimoto prize and SNP-CNS Summer School Incentive<br>
prizes will be awarded to good presenters. ANPhA awards will be<br>
selected from them. Those who wish to participate in the YRS and/or to<br>
request financial support should submit 200 words abstract in the<br>
registration page. The quality of the abstract may affect<br>
participation eligibility.<br>
For the young researchers participating in-person, a poster session is<br>
planned in order to discuss each other. Details of the oral and poster<br>
presentations will be announced to YRS participants.<br>
<br>
RIBF tour<br>
We are planning a tour of the RI Beam Facility at RIKEN. This is<br>
considered an important part of the school. Just before the tour, Dr.<br>
Kubota will give a lecture on the RI Beam Facility and related physics<br>
to enhance the effectiveness of the tour.<br>
<br>
Financial support<br>
We have a limited amount of budget to support local expenses including<br>
transportation, accommodation, and some per diem in Japan for<br>
in-person participants who present research works at the Young<br>
Researchers' Session.<br>
<br>
Accommodation<br>
Participants are expected to arrange accommodation individually. There<br>
are several hotels in Wako and you can book through web sites such as<br>
booking.com. If you have any problems in booking hotels, please<br>
consult the organizers.<br>
The first day of the school will be organized at Hongo-campus, the<br>
University of Tokyo and the remaining part of the school will take<br>
place at RIKEN Wako campus.<br>
A bus transportation between Wako and Hongo will be arranged by the<br>
organizer. Detailed information will be announced on the school web or<br>
the final announcement.<br>
<br>
Reception and school dinner<br>
We are planning to organize a reception at the Hongo campus after the<br>
first day of the school. All participants are welcome to the<br>
reception. We will organize the school dinner at the Wako campus.<br>
Detail about the school dinner will be announced later.<br>
<br>
Registration<br>
The participation fee, which includes the reception, is free.<br>
However, a small fee will be collected for the school dinner. The<br>
registration page is open now. Please register from the school web<br>
site.<br>
<br>
School Venue<br>
The first day of the school (3rd August) will be organized at the<br>
Hongo campus, the University of Tokyo. For those staying in the<br>
vicinity of Wako City, organizers will arrange a bus between Wako and<br>
Hongo. Further details will be provided later. The second day (4th<br>
August, Sunday) is spared for the homework day. The Remaining part of<br>
the school (5th – 8th August) will take place at the RIKEN Wako<br>
campus.<br>
