Dear Jefferson Lab Users Community:

I am writing to encourage you to nominate your colleagues for APS Fellowships through the Topical Group on Hadronic Physics (GHP). The nominee should have made significant contributions "to the advancement of physics by independent, original research or who
have rendered some other special service to the cause of the sciences", see
https://www.aps.org/funding-recognition/aps-fellowship/ghp-fellowship.

The instructions for nomination may be found on the Fellowship Nominations website (above). The entire process can be easily completed online (see

https://apsphysics.secure-platform.com/a). When ready to nominate a colleague, please take note of the following checklist:

• The nominee must be an active member of APS at the time of nomination submission. You will need the nominee’s curriculum vitae.
• Note that to nominate someone for Fellowship, the sponsor does not need to be a Fellow themselves, but should be an active APS member.
• Identify a suitable co-sponsor (the co-sponsor should also be an active APS member). During the online nomination process, you will be required to provide details for a co-sponsor. After you complete a nomination, the co-sponsor will be notified by email.
• Arrange for up to two supporting letters. These will have to be uploaded to the APS website in addition to the nomination letters. Individuals providing letters of support do not have to be members of APS.
For the exact list of material needed, please see again the fellowship webpage:
https://www.aps.org/funding-recognition/aps-fellowship/ghp-fellowship.

The membership of APS is diverse and global, and the nominees and recipients of APS Honors should reflect that diversity so that all are recognized for their impact on our community. Nominations of members belonging to groups traditionally underrepresented
in physics, and scientists from outside the United States are especially encouraged.

The nomination process should be complete prior to GHP's deadline: Monday June 2nd, 2025. For 2025, GHP is allowed to award two fellows.

Best regards,

Xiaochao Zheng, Professor of Physics, University of Virginia
GHP Vice Chair
for the 2025 GHP fellowship committee
