Invites applications for a tenure-track position, /open rank/, beginning 
August 2010 in experimental nuclear physics. The successful candidate is 
expected to conduct research at Jefferson Lab, preferably within the 
GlueX collaboration in Hall D, to have a strong commitment to teaching 
at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to supervising graduate 
students and to attracting external funding. Under a FIU/JLAB agreement 
this position carries 50% release time to carry out research at 
Jefferson Lab for the first four years of the appointment.

The experimental nuclear physics group currently consists of four 
experimental physicists who are conducting research at Jefferson Lab in 
Halls A, B and C and in the future Hall D and are member of various 
research collaborations such as Hall A, CLAS, HKS and GlueX.

The department (www.fiu.edu/physics <http://www.fiu.edu/physics>) has 21 
faculty in theoretical and experimental groups in astronomy, biophysics, 
condensed matter, nuclear-particle-lattice QCD physics, physics 
education research, and quantum-optics.
