The University of Glasgow seeks to make two appointments to pursue a
world-class research programme in nuclear and hadron physics, which
will strengthen and enhance the work of the Nuclear Physics research
group in the School of Physics and Astronomy.

The Lecturer will add to the research programme of the Nuclear Physics
group, will play a key role in developing and implementing School
strategy in research and teaching, teach physics at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels and undertake School and University
responsibilities as specified by the Head of School. You will be
expected to seek out new research opportunities, including possible
cross-disciplinary activities.

The SUPA Advanced Fellow will take a lead in the nuclear physics
applications of ultra-compact laser-plasma particle sources and their
derivatives. You will exploit the SCAPA facility at the University of
Strathclyde, by undertaking independent leadership of the activities
that the Nuclear Physics group will carry out with this facility, and
will collaborate effectively within the broad scientific base of the
SUPA research alliance. The post is tenable for four years.

SUPA is a research alliance of eight Scottish University physics
departments that adopts a co-ordinated approach to research. The post
