The Christopher Newport University Department of Physics, Computer 
Science & Engineering invites
applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of 
Physics beginning August 19, 2013. The
University is seeking teacher scholars who are committed to 
undergraduate education, and who want to
engage students in creative intellectual challenges. Our exemplary group 
of faculty integrates high quality
teaching and significant research involving undergraduates and supports 
the further development of our
graduate program.
Faculty expectations, in addition to teaching, include the development 
of a vibrant, externally funded
program of scholarship leading to publications, regular developmental 
advising of students, curriculum and
program development, and university service. Faculty members are also 
expected to develop and teach
courses in our liberal learning core.
