*Two Postdoctoral Positions in Experimental Particle/Nuclear Physics*
The Physics Department at Indiana University Bloomington invites
applications for two postdoctoral positions with its experimental
particle/nuclear physics group. The research activities of the group
focus on hadron spectroscopy with an emphasis on the search for and
study of nonconventional mesons. The group is involved in several aspects
of the GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab including commissioning the
forward calorimeter and development of analysis algorithms. In addition
the group is active in the BESIII experiment, in particular in studies
of excited charmonium and charmonium-like mesons.
The successful candidates will have the option of being based at
Jefferson Lab or Indiana University and be involved in either GlueX
and/or BESIII in a way that is commensurate with the candidates
skills.Both detector hardware and data analysis skills are preferred;
however, a successful candidate need not be a specialist in both.A Ph.D.
in experimental high-energy or nuclear physics is required.Starting date
is negotiable; both positions are expected to be filled by the end of 2014.
Applications including a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research
experience and interests, and three letters of reference should be
submitted through the application portal located at
http://indiana.peopleadmin.com/hr/postings/868or send to Professor
Matthew Shepherd Indiana University Physics 727 E. 3rd St. Swain West

and will continue until the positions are filled. The position is
annually renewable assuming satisfactory performance. For questions
please contact the Physics Department at 812-855-1247 or Matthew
