The Department of Physics at the University of Regina (www.phys.uregina.ca) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in experimental nuclear physics and nuclear imaging, starting July 1, 2015.

The Chair is funded by the Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation (www.fedorukcentre.ca) for an initial five year period, as part of a strategic investment towards the creation of the Saskatchewan Program in Nuclear Imaging (SPNI). This program will be centered in the new Saskatchewan Centre for Cyclotron Sciences (www.fedorukcentre.ca/facilities/cyclotron.php), which will build upon the province’s pioneering research in nuclear medicine and will advance research in the expanding fields of molecular imaging, nuclear medicine and other areas of science that make use of radioisotopes.

We are seeking an individual who will complement and further strengthen our research in experimental subatomic physics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics or related fields with postdoctoral research experience, a strong research record, and commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates with experience in nuclear physics detector development, data collection, analysis, simulation techniques, and PET detector systems will be given priority. The successful individual is expected to establish a vigorous externally-funded research program collaborating closely with other SPNI researchers and investigators, and to establish a curriculum in Health Physics in cooperation with local partners.
