[Cugapost] Experimental Research Scientist Position for Nuclear and Particle Physics

The Department of Physics at the University of Virginia is seeking a
Research Scientist to work in the area of Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM)
detector development and fabrication for experimental nuclear and
particle physics. Candidates with outstanding research potential, an
educational vision, and expertise in GEM detector technology are
especially invited to apply. This position will be supported by a
Department of Energy research contract and is renewable yearly based
upon the availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
The candidate will take part in leading prototyping, construction,
testing, and commissioning of Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) based
trackers for 12 GeV experimental programs in hall A at Jefferson Lab.
A Ph.D. in Physics, at least three years of postdoctoral research
experience and a strong background in particle detector technology is
required.
