FACULTY POSITION

Idaho State University

Idaho State University invites applications for a Tenure Track Assistant 
Professor position in Physics.Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics. 
We seek outstanding candidates who can provide high quality instruction 
and complement our current research emphasis with an active, externally 
funded research program. The position involves teaching courses ranging 
from introductory to graduate level, mentoring of graduate students, 
research, and service.Salary is competitive. The principle research 
emphasis is on applications of nuclear science using the Idaho 
Accelerator Center (IAC), a large accelerator based research center at 
ISU. Research areas include nuclear physics, pulsed power, novel 
radiation beams, accelerator physics, photon activation analysis, 
medical isotope development and commercialization, non-destructive 
materials analysis, and homeland security and nuclear 
non-proliferation/safeguards. In addition, the Physics Program has 
ongoing research collaborations with several national laboratories. IAC 
resources include an S-Band 6 kW electron LINAC, a 44 MeV LINAC capable 
of picosecond pulses, a Tri-MeV 30 kA pulse power accelerator, and a 25 
MeV electron LINAC. The physics program offers B.A., B.S., & M.S. 
degrees in Physics and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics. Located in the heart 
of the Northern Rockies, ISU is within a few hours’ drive of 
Yellowstone, the Tetons, Sun Valley, world-class skiing facilities in 
northern Utah, and numerous hunting, fishing, rafting, and 
mountain-biking opportunities. For priority consideration applications
