Postdoctoral position in Medical/nuclear physics

There is an opening for a postdoctoral research position working at the
University of York within the new hadron and medical physics research
group. The project will involve development, testing and simulation of
new PET detector prototypes made from CZT detector technology in
collaboration with an industrial partner (Kromek Ltd). There will also
be opportunities to contribute to our pure science research area as part
of the appointment. Our program at JLAB and MAMI includes neutron skin
measurements, investigating the d*(2380)resonance, meson spectroscopy
and studies of hyperon-nucleon interactions. Experience in detector
development, software development and GEANT4 simulation would be an
advantage.

The appointment would start as early as 01/08/2018 and be for 12 months
in the first instance with continuation of the post anticipated
dependent on funding. The job application page will be available later
this month. Due to the short timescales we welcome inquiries in advance
of the official advert.
