Assistant Professor in Physics or Astronomy

This is a tenure track position beginning at the rank of Assistant 
Professor. A Ph.D. in astronomy or physics is required. The successful 
applicant will be expected to teach courses in astronomy, physics, 
and/or physical science with particular emphasis on the ability to teach 
introductory level astronomy courses. Excellence in teaching is expected 
as well as a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals 
from diverse communities and cultures. The successful applicant will be 
expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, and

Preferred qualifications include a demonstrated ability to work 
effectively in informal and formal teams with individuals from diverse 
communities and cultures, a distinctive record of accomplishment

outreach, an ability to contribute to campus diversity efforts and/or 
demonstrate cultural competence, and experience with a wide variety of 
teaching methods focused on diverse learners and differentiation.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and includes Radford
