Experimental Nuclear Physics – Tenure Track faculty Position:


The Department of Physics at Kent State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in

experimental medium or high-energy nuclear physics.  Although the position is primarily intended for

the assistant professor level, candidates for appointments at higher ranks will be considered based upon

qualifications.  The successful candidate is expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and

graduate levels, and to develop a vigorous externally funded research program that will enhance Kent

State University’s ongoing efforts in experimental nuclear physics.  A PhD or equivalent in physics is a

requirement.  Applicants should submit materials that include a cover letter, CV, a statement of both short-

and long-term research interests, and an outline of teaching interests and philosophy.  Names and contact

information for at least three professional references should also be provided.  Review of applications will

begin in September 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.  The appointment is expected to begin
