The MultiDark/CDMS group of the Institute for Theoretical Physics,
Madrid
<br>
(Spain), invites applications for a postdoctoral position to work in
the
<br>
Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS) experiment, contributing to the
<br>
development of Monte Carlo background estimation, data analysis and the
<br>
interpretation of the data.
<br>
<br>
The initial appointment for this position is two years, with the
<br>
possibility
<br>
of extending it for a third year. The starting date can be during
<br>
2011/2012,
<br>
to be arranged with the applicant. The postdoc will need to spend a
<br>
significant amount of time at one of the CDMS centers in US.
<br>
<br>
Prospective candidates are expected to be experienced in Monte Carlo
tools
<br>
(GEANT4), particle detection techniques involving gamma rays, beta and
<br>
alpha
<br>
particles and neutrons, and have an understanding of radioactivity and
its
<br>
interactions with materials.
<br>
<br>
