visiting professor position in physics, at the rank of assistant
professor
(non-tenure track). This position is a temporary replacement for a
faculty
member in experimental nuclear/particle physics who will be on leave to
the
NSF. The initial appointment will be for one year, with possible
extension to a
second year. We are looking for a candidate whose research interests
and
experience match those of the experimental nuclear physics group and
who will
be able to quickly assume a full array of teaching responsibilities and
research supervision. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics and at
least one
year of post-doctoral research in experimental nuclear or particle
physics. Preference will be given to candidates with a history of
funded
research and/or hardware experience with complex particle physics
instrumentation, as the group is presently involved in several hardware
projects for the 12 GeV upgrade of Jefferson Lab. Preference will also
be given
to candidates with substantial teaching experience, including astronomy.
