<pre>The department of Physics and Astronomy is active within three main
areas: education, research and cooperation with society. It is organized
into the divisions of Applied Nuclear Physics, Astronomy and Space
Physics, High Energy Physics, Ion Physics, Materials Physics, Materials
Theory, Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics, Nuclear Physics, Physics
Education Research, and Theoretical Physics. The department has 260
employees, with about 80 permanent academic staff, 20 junior academic
staff, 20 postdocs and 100 doctoral students. More information about the

<strong>Duties</strong>: The position consists of at least 80 percent research and no more than 20 percent teaching.
<strong>Recruitment Period:</strong> The period of employment is 2 years. Starting date February1, 2013 or later as agreed upon.
<strong>Eligibility:</strong>
To be eligible for a position as postdoctoral researcher the
applicant's Ph.D. degree must have been obtained no more than three
years prior to the application date; however, periods of e.g. sick leave
or parental leave are deducted from the three-year period.
<strong>Ranking criteria:</strong> In ranking eligible candidates, special importance will be given to scientific skills.
In filling these positions the university aims to recruit the persons
who, in the combined evaluation of competence, skills and documented
qualifications, are judged most suitable to carry out and develop the
work-in-hand and to contribute to a positive development of the
department.
