            <span class="">The Medium Energy Group at BNL’s Physics
              department has an opening for a Postdoctoral Research
              Associate. The selected candidate is <br class="">
              expected to analyze polarized pp and p(d)A data to
              constrain the nuclear parton distributions and especially
              study observables in di-hadron <br class="">
              production sensitive to gluon saturation accessible at
              RHIC at forward rapidities. <br class="">
              The selected candidate will in collaboration with the
              members of the BNL Medium Energy group and members of the
              STAR collaboration analyze STAR data. </span>

                participate in the calibration of the STAR detector
                systems essential of the analysis. The selected
                candidate is expected to present the </span></div>

                  Polarimeter group a concept how to measure the
                  absolute polarization of high energy (30-166 GeV)
                  polarized 3He++ beams, the lifetime of the </span></div>

                  255);" class="">polarization, and the bunch
                  polarization profile in transverse and longitudinal
                  direction with both high statistical precision and low
                  systematic uncertainty at high collision frequencies. </span></div>

                  255);" class="">Furthermore, the requirements for the
                  detectors and the overall polarimeter setup should be
                  defined. </span></div>

                class="">The selected candidate will develop a full
                simulation of the absolute and relative polarimeters
                needed to measure polarization of He-3 beams at high
                collision frequencies. </span>

                  RHIC polarimeters will be used to verify the
                  simulations. The selected candidate is expected to
                  present the results at meetings, reviews </span></div>
