<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">The Medium Energy Physics Group at Duke University and the Triangle Universities Nuclear Laboratory invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The group
has research interests which include studies of nucleon structure at Jefferson Lab, and at the High Intensity Gamma Source (HIGS) facility at the Duke University Free Electron Laser Laboratory, e.g. precise measurements of the proton and the deuteron charge
radii in Hall B at Jefferson Lab; the transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMD) studies employing polarized
3He and NH3 targets, and the proposed Solenoidal Large Intensity Device (SoLID) detector in Hall A with a 12-GeV CEBAF at Jefferson Lab; the Compton scattering experiments at HIGS to extract the nucleon polarizabilities; searches of exotic
QCD states; a measurement of the neutral eta meson radiative decay width in Hall D at Jefferson Lab. The group is also interested in the Electron-Ion-Collider (EIC) physics. The successful candidate is expected to contribute significantly to the group’s physics
programs and to the SoLID detector, especially to the studies of a heavy gas Cherenkov detector for hadron particle identification.<o:p></o:p></p>

The initial appointment is for one year, which can commence as early as January 2020. Based on mutual satisfaction and continued funding, the possibility for extension exists for two additional years. Applicants should submit a vitae and brief statement of
research interests, and should have three letters of recommendation submitted to Academic Jobs Online at:
