<div dir="ltr"><font face="tahoma, sans-serif">faculty position in experimental nuclear physics at Mississippi State<br>
University (MSU) starting August 16, 2021. Applicants who will enhance and<br>
broaden the research activities of the medium-energy group are encouraged to<br>
apply. However, exceptional applicants in other areas of experimental nuclear<br>
physics such as nuclear astrophysics will also be considered. The medium<span class="x_gmail_default" style="font-family:tahoma,sans-serif">-</span>energy<br>
group at MSU is currently involved in experiments at Jefferson Lab and<br>
Fermilab, and has plans for the forthcoming Electron-Ion Collider at<br>
Brookhaven National Laboratory. We also have groups leading research in<br>
theoretical nuclear physics and a low-energy nuclear physics group conducting<br>
experiments at LANL and several University-based laboratories while also<br>
planning to be involved in research at FRIB.</font></div>
<div dir="ltr"><font face="tahoma, sans-serif"><br>
The position is a nine-month, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor<br>
level. Applicants must have a doctorate in physics or a related field, an<br>
established record of publications in scientific journals, a strong commitment to<br>
excellence in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and will be<br>
expected to initiate and lead an independent research program. A commitment<br>
to promotion of equitable, diverse and inclusive environments in research,<br>
teaching and/or service will be considered favorably.</font></div>

MSU is a land-grant university with an enrollment of about 21,000 students.<br>
The department offers BS, MS, and Ph.D degrees. Applicants are expected to<br>

Performance Computing Collaboratory, the Institute of Imaging and Analytical<br>
Technologies, and the Institute for Clean Energy Technology.<br>
