The experimental Medium Energy Physics group at Mississippi State University invites
applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The group has research interests
that include studies of nucleon structure and QCD dynamics in nuclei at Fermilab and
Jefferson Lab, such as the study of sea quarks distributions, EMC effect, the poorly known
gluon transverse momentum distributions using J/Psi production, and transversity with the
polarized Drell-Yan, E1039/SpinQuest, experiment at Fermilab. The group is in addition
interested in the precision measurement of color propagation and color transparency as well
as the partonic structure of bound nucleons at Jefferson Lab.

We are looking for candidates who will be stationed at Fermilab and will continue leading our
efforts on optimizing an advanced Graphical Processing Unit based multi-threaded framework
for online data reconstruction and monitoring, the commissioning as well as running of the
E1039 experiment, and data analyses. The successful candidate will be encouraged to
actively participate in the development of new proposals as well as projects.

A Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or particle physics or related fields is required along with
proficiency in programming and data analysis concepts. Preferences will be given to
candidates with prior knowledge of GPU-based programming.
