The experimental Medium Energy Physics group at Mississippi State University invites<br>

applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The group has research interests<br>

that include studies of nucleon structure and QCD dynamics in nuclei at Jefferson Lab and<br>

Fermilab, such as the precision measurement of color propagation and fragmentation<br>

processes, the study of color transparency phenomena, and the partonic structure of bound<br>

nucleons. The group is, in addition, interested in the study of sea quarks distributions, the<br>

EMC effect, the poorly known gluon transverse momentum distributions using J/Ų production,<br>

and transversity with the polarized Drell-Yan, E1039/SpinQuest, experiment at Fermilab.</div>

<div dir="ltr"><br>

We are looking for candidates who will be stationed at Fermilab and continue leading our<br>

efforts on optimizing an advanced Graphics Processing Unit based multi-threaded framework<br>

for online data reconstruction and monitoring and contributing to the commissioning and<br>

running of the SpinQuest experiment as well as data analyses. The successful candidate will<br>

be encouraged to actively participate in the development of new proposals as well as<br>

projects.</div>

A Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or particle physics or related fields and proficiency in<br>

programming and data analysis concepts are required. Preferences will be given to<br>

candidates with prior knowledge of GPU-based programming.</div>
