The Department of Physics at New Mexico State University seeks<br>

Current research areas in the department include nuclear/hadronic<br>
physics, solid-state/condensed-matter physics, materials science, and<br>
optics. The experimental high-energy nuclear physics group (M. Paolone,<br>
B. Duran) pursues research on fundamental properties of the nucleon,<br>
nucleon structure, excitation, medium modification, and short range<br>
correlation at national and international labs including the Thomas<br>
Jefferson National Accelerator Facility and the Paul Scherrer Institute.<br>
The theoretical nuclear and particle physics group (M. Engelhardt, M.<br>
Sievert, R. Sufian) conducts research in the areas of hot and cold QCD,<br>
including hadron structure, lattice QCD, jets, and gluon saturation.</div>

We seek a person who will grow a vigorous, externally-funded research<br>
program in strong interaction physics at a US facility and have a deep<br>
commitment to both graduate and undergraduate physics education. All<br>
candidates must have a Ph.D. degree, at least one year of post-doctoral<br>
research experience, and an established record of research and<br>
publications in experimental nuclear physics. Candidates must submit a<br>
curriculum vitae which includes a list of publications, and a diversity,<br>
equity, and inclusion statement with their application. Candidates must<br>
also include both a teaching philosophy statement and a research<br>
statement, which should include a brief summary of experience and a<br>
description of future plans. Candidates are also asked to provide a list<br>
of three references who are willing to provide a letter in support of<br>
