Hi all,

So I had some trouble logging into the Hall A wiki last week and after
talking to computer services, I was able to get it resolved. Turns out
Jlab pass words are a tricky thing. So that this problem doesn't occur
for any one else, here is the solution that they sent me:

I am so sorry.... It's a busy morning catching up after the
holiday... I got my systems crossed when responding to your
request... Thanks for providing the URL...

So... for the hallaweb/wiki that you're actually trying to use, I
see that you are indeed getting denied access. Our web servers all
authenticate against our underlying LDAP authentication service
(part of our Windows Domain).

I see that you recently changed your password using jpasswd. It
seems that when you did so, the new password was successfully set on
the Unix/Linux portions of our system, but the new password failed
to meet Windows' complexity requirements and so was denied. Windows
complexity rules include a check fo rportions of your real name in
the new password. These checks are difficult to duplicate in our
jpasswd system, so these situations occasionlaly crop up.

You should change your password again, this time insuring that the
new password contains no portion of your real name or username. Once
you successfully reset your password, you should be able to login to
the wiki.

Sorry for the confusion.

Marty Wise
