Hi all,

I have made corrections to the A_1^n statistical error technical note,
adding superscripts to the quantities N_p, N_cut, and N_raw.

I have also included the 4-pass error bars in the plot on the last page.
I did <not> skew the positions of the 4-pass points on this plot, so what
you see is what you get; therefore, the 4-pass points are in good
agreement with what we see at 5-pass, for those overlapping data points.
In one case (x ~ 0.633) the error bar is reduced by about a factor of 2
(4% at 5-pass to ~1.8% at 4-pass).

You can find the (main directory) updated note (v3) here:

I would still like to investigate the quantities R and D, as brought up by
Greg in the meeting yesterday.

Thanks,
P.S. -- Still looking for ways in ROOT to generate that error band at the
bottom of a plot, so I can insert the E99-117 systematic errors on their 3
data points...

Dr. Meziani suggested that I should make momentum bins for the 4-pass data to sync up with those of the 5-pass data. To this end, I've added momentum bins of:

p = 0.90, 1.13, 1.20, 1.27, and 1.70

to the 4-pass data, and a momentum bin of p = 0.80 to the 5-pass data. From what I can tell, we did not take data on the LHRS for the above mentioned momenta at 4-pass, likewise for p = 0.80 at 5-pass. However, since A_1^n isn't using the LHRS, it won't affect this calculation.

Such changes have been reflected in a new note, labeled v4.

Thanks,

Dave

--
-----------------------------------------------------------
David Flay
Physics Department
